Denver Post - CARNIVAL BRINGS STARLIGHT KIDS, DU STUDENTS TOGETHER
Cream pie throwing, water gun fights and face painting were just a few of the carnival games that members of a sorority and fraternity were found playing Sunday with kids at the University of Denver.
While it may not be a typical weekend activity for college students, Beta Theta Pi and Gamma Phi Beta joined forces to throw a fun-filled carnival for kids from the Starlight Children's Foundation, an organization that provides diversions for children with serious illnesses and their families. TAMMY RUDEN KRAUSE TO SERVE AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF STARLIGHT COLORADO
Starlight Children's Foundation has named Tammy Rudden Krause the new executive director of its Starlight Colorado chapter. Krause comes to her position with extensive experience in philanthropy, having worked many years as a volunteer with Denver-area nonprofits that include the Junior League of Denver, Children's Hospital Colorado, CASA, Rise School, Seeds of Hope and the Morgan Adams Foundation. In a child's world, make-believe is paramount and getting math homework done in time to watch cartoons might be the main concern of the day. At least, that is how it should be. In a sick child's world, the license of being carefree is taken away. Fighting an illness takes precedence over everything and time to watch cartoons or do homework is replaced with waiting rooms and hospital treatments. READ MORE
