When a child is seriously ill, everyone in the family is affected. Sometimes the daily struggles of caring for a sick child are so oppressive, the thought of leaving the house for a family event seems impossible. That's why Feld Entertainment, Inc.-the largest producer of live family entertainment in the world today-has partnered with Starlight Starbright to provide 2,850 free tickets to Disney On Ice and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for seriously ill children and their families in the '05-06' season. Feld has been providing exciting entertainment for Starlight Starbright kids and their families since 2002.
A special addition to Starlight Starbright's Great Escapes program, the Feld partnership enables children and families in the Northeastern region of the United States to just sit back and forget about their challenges, at least for a little while. One mother told Betty Cicchinelli, a child life specialist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, that the trip to Disney On Ice was the highlight of her daughter's stay at the hospital. "She has been getting stuck and pricked all week so this was a wonderful distraction for her," she said.
